Another week down

This week hasnt been the greatest. I started last friday when I came down with a headcold wich carried over into monday so I missed the gym. Tuesday I felt better so I did some p90X but didnt sleep very well that night so I didnt go to the gym on Wednesday. I did however make up for it on thursday by going and swimming laps. Yesterday started really well. Went to the gym again, warmed up, started doing a bunnch of weights but on my last set of my last exercise I pulled something in my shoulder/trap area. When I work up this morning I hardly move my head without it feeling like it was on fire. Popped a Motrin and tried to relax most of the day. Definitely going to be doing laps on monday. Weights are going to have to wait.

Week 5.. what!

Hello neighbors. Nice to see you again. Wont you sit and join me.

My birthday was great, thanks to all my family and friends that could share it with me or at least send me some well wishes. I let myself go over the weekend but to my surprise... I didn't really see a gain. Here we are at Friday again (Thank god this week has been brutal). Official weigh in isn't until the first but you know me.. I cant help myself so I stepped up on the scale and what do ya know 329lbs. "My god Jim I think its working!" Ive also had a few people say I look better. In my mind though with it being such a small loss I'm thinking they may just be complimenting me for motivation or just to be nice or whatever but Ive gotten it on good confidence from the wifey that she says I don't look as pregnant as I did before so its definitely encouraging. Anywhatsit heres how my week went

Mon: Gym. Swam a bunch of laps

Tuesday: to tired from the night before (set up Madison's big girl bed, rearranged furniture and homework) Had to skip otherwise i wasn't going to make it at work.

Wed: Gym. This day was a bust, i got to the gym a little early even to try and swim laps and the pool was packed! So I hung around the hottub for a bit but it just seemed to get worse so I thought I would go lift some weights.. well being a swim day I didnt bring my sneakers so I couldnt warm up properly. I did some arm and back stuff but it just didnt feel right so I left.

Thurs: P90X. I was excited for this day. My friend terry got me some weights so Im finally able to do some of the other routines. I cant wait to do more!

and then theres today. A headcold that came about last night put me off of working out today. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Happy Birthday to me! 10lbs gone!

Another year older and I don't know if I'm much wiser for it. j/k. 30 is kind of a scary number but I wont let it get me down. I think Ive made some good decisions recently that will help me see many more decades so I'm pretty proud of that. Today marks not only my birthday, its also one month since Ive started working out. A whole month down already... where did the time go? I'm really enjoying my time at the gym and combined with the stuff I'm doing on my non gym days I think I'm learning a lot about balancing out my routines for maximum effect. We'll the verdict is in...drum roll please... 10lbs. Ive lost a total of 10 lbs on my journey so far. If I can keep up an 8-10 loss per month I will hit my target of 240 by July (TIME FOR THE BEACH!)It might not seem like a lot now but 10 lbs is 10 lbs and you have to start somewhere right. And thanks to it coming off I'm excited for the next month to see another 10 gone. I look at it like sure its only 10 lbs but just think.. in the next 2 or 3 months it will be 20 and 30 lbs... now were getting into mind blowing territory. I don't even remember the last time I was under 300 lbs. I think this month I might try and do more swimming.. maybe twice a week or so. So.. 10lbs down... 90 to go. Ive got a challenge in front of me and I wont let it beat me. I can doooo eeeeet!

ABS ABS ABS

Gym day. My glutes and thighs are still pretty sore from yesterday. Walked my mile to warm up. Then slicky and I hit an Ab routine. Crunches, Leg lifts, Bicycles, In N outs, Crunch machine, Oblique machine and Hanging leg lifts burned us pretty good. We tried to do about 2 sets of about 15 to 20 of each so im curious to know how ill feel in the morning lol.. or maybe i dont wanna know. I think tomorrow if im not hunkered over in pain im gonna do some Cardio X. Wont be Able to do much on friday though because of the early Drs appt.

Might have lost another lb. too but i dont weigh in "officially" until the 15th. Crossing my fingers

Cant.. stand.....must.... crawl.....

So I decided to try a new p90x routine today. Went with legs and back since I still dont have weights for the chest and arms routines. I dont have a pull up bar yet (ya like i could do a pull up right now if my life depended on it) so I just did different kinds of pushups while the people on the picture box did their thing. For craps sake my legs are wobbly right now. I thought I would have done better since its mostly different lunges and weightless squats but damn.. On the up side I always have new goals to try and attain.

I did get some Perfect Pushups from my friend Terry at work yesterday. Im still a bit off from being able to use them at full capacity but ill get there(another goal). The scale in the bathroom said 332.6 this morning. Another lb or so down. I think what im going to do from here on out is periodically check my weight but on the first and 15th of every month ill document it (ive started a graph)so Ill have a bi monthly total to track my progress. Also now that im at almost a month into this exercise thing im going to switch to weekly blog posts instead of daily (unless something crazy happens or i get a wild hair up my butt. Time to get ready for the day. Cheers all!

OCT 1

Hello October my good friend. Long time no see.

It was a good day today, First day of Oct AND a Friday. OCTOBER has some cool stuff going on too. Next Friday we find out if were having a boy or girl and then the following week I turn the Dirty Thirty. Also i stepped on the scale this morning and it said 333... not too shabby. Weighed myself at the gym at it said 334 so that makes me feel pretty good about the scale at home giving me a fairly accurate reading. I walked a mile again, then did some more ab stuff and some more weights this time focusing on chest and biceps. I might just get up in the morning and try to do something, we'll see how it goes.

Onward and upward to dead sexyness!
